The best jump starter for most drivers is a portable unit whose listing states the peak current, the engine sizes it covers, and the extras you actually need, such as a tire inflator or a power bank. The nine portable units in this post state peak current figures from 1700 amps to 8000 amps. Those are the listings’ own claims, and most listings do not state the cranking amps that a starter motor uses, so the numbers cannot be compared directly.

Quick answer

  • Highest stated peak current: the two PHSDOR listings state 8000A, and the Giroago listing states 6000A. The KeenPower listing states 6285A in its amperage field.
  • Air compressor included: six listings state a 150 PSI tire inflator, the Giroago, GOOLOO A3, AWTFYCPY, both PHSDOR listings and INLAAPUM. Only the GOOLOO A3 pairs that with a stated 18-month warranty.
  • Smallest stated size: the Povasee A30 lists 6.61 x 3.37 x 1.7 inches and 2.2 pounds, the lightest figure in this set.
  • Left out: the ANCEL BS200 is an under-hood system that stays connected to the vehicle, not a portable jump starter, so this post does not include it.

The jump starters we read

The table uses only the figures each listing states. A cell that reads not stated means the listing is silent on that point.

Listing Stated peak current Engine rating stated Air compressor or extras Warranty or count stated
Giroago 6000A 6000A 7.0L gas, 6.0L diesel 150PSI; 35L/min; 5 modes; 7-in-1 not stated
KeenPower 6000A super capacitor 6285A (amperage field) not stated not stated over 1,000,000 cycles
GOOLOO A3 3000A 3000 amp 9.0L gas, 6.5L diesel 150 PSI; 35L/Min; 5 nozzles 18 months
Clore JNC660 1700 peak amp 1700 Peak Amps not stated Voltmeter; DC outlet not stated
Povasee A30 5000A 5000A 10L gas, 8.0L diesel Dual USB; 400 lumen LED 24 months; about 60 jump starts
AWTFYCPY 7000A 7000A peak not stated 150PSI; power bank not stated
PHSDOR 8000A (B0G8D9GBCD) 8000A peak all gas and 10.0L diesel 150 PSI; 25000mAh power bank; 600-lumen light 2-year returns and support (the listing says)
INLAAPUM 4000A 4000A 9.0L gas, 8.0L diesel 150PSI; vacuum and blower attachments up to 20 starts per charge
PHSDOR 8000A (N5-A2) 8000A ALL gasoline and 10L diesel 150 PSI; MAX 160 PSI mode 2-year returns and support (the listing says)

Tire inflation rate from the listings’ own figures

Two listings state a starting and ending tire pressure with a time. We use one formula: inflation rate = (ending PSI minus starting PSI) divided by minutes. Each listing’s own figures give the same result.

Listing Stated change Calculation Result
GOOLOO A3 30 to 36 PSI in one minute (Tesla Model 3/Y tire, the listing says) (36 – 30) / 1 6 PSI per minute
INLAAPUM 30 to 35 PSI in 50 seconds (standard car tire, the listing says) (35 – 30) / (50 / 60) 6 PSI per minute

Both figures come to 6 PSI per minute, although one is for a Tesla Model 3/Y tire and the other for a standard car tire. The PHSDOR N5-A2 listing says it fills a tire to 25 PSI in one minute, but it gives no starting pressure, so we do not put it in the calculation.

The jump starters, one by one

Each section gives the listing’s own description, its stated specs, when the unit fits, when to skip it, and the limit the listing leaves open. Two sections include a link to the listing.

Giroago 6000A jump starter with air compressor

The listing describes a 12V portable jump starter with a 150PSI tire inflator. It says the unit is engineered for 7.0L gas and 6.0L diesel engines and that its Force Start mode can revive batteries drained to 0V.

  • Peak current: 6000A (the listing says)
  • Engines: 7.0L gas and 6.0L diesel (the listing says)
  • Operating temperature: -4°F to 122°F (the listing says)
  • Air compressor: 150PSI maximum; 35L/min; five preset modes (the listing says)
  • Battery chemistry: lithium ion (overview)

Pick it if you want a jump starter with an air compressor and a 7-in-1 kit. Skip it if you need a warranty figure, because the listing states none. The limit: the overview field reads 1 volts, which conflicts with the 12V in the bullets, so this post uses only the bullets.

KeenPower 6000A super capacitor jump starter

The listing describes a jump box that uses six 3000F super capacitors instead of a battery. The listing says it needs no pre-charge at home and that it charges in a few minutes once it is connected to the car battery. It states 6285A as the maximum current.

  • Current: 6285A maximum (the listing says; title says 6000A)
  • Technology: 6 x 3000F super capacitors (the listing says)
  • Temperature: up to 158°F and down to -45°F (the listing says)
  • Cycle life: over 1,000,000 cycles (the listing says)
  • Weight: 10.5 pounds (overview)

Pick it if you want a unit that the listing says needs no pre-charge at home. Skip it if you need a battery capacity figure, because the listing does not state one. The limit: the 6000A title and the 6285A amperage field differ, so the listing’s own figure should be checked before you buy.

GOOLOO A3 12V 3000A jump starter with air compressor

The listing describes a lithium polymer jump starter with a 150 PSI air compressor, a smart LED screen and automatic shut-off. It states 3000 amps, engine support up to 9.0L gas and 6.5L diesel, and ten key protections, including short circuit and reverse connection protection.

  • Peak current: 3000 amp (title)
  • Engines: 9.0L gas and 6.5L diesel (the listing says)
  • Air compressor: 150 PSI; 35L/Min (the listing says)
  • Operating temperature: -4°F to 140°F (the listing says)
  • Warranty: 18 months (the listing says)
  • Included: jump starter, smart jumper cable, USB-A to USB-C cable, carrying bag, pump tube, 5 air nozzles, user manual (the listing says)

Pick it if you want an 18-month warranty and a full kit with five nozzles. Skip it if you need the largest engine rating in this set, because its 9.0L gas figure is below the 10L gas figure in the Povasee listing. The limit: the listing says to recharge the unit at least once every three months during storage, and this post repeats that only as the listing’s instruction.

Pick it if you want a lead-acid unit with a voltmeter and a 12V outlet. Skip it if you need a weight or a warranty, because the listing gives neither. The limit: the listing does not state an engine rating, so you cannot match it to your engine from the listing.

Povasee A30 5000A jump starter

The listing describes a lithium polymer jump box with a 5000A peak, about 60 quick jump starts per charge, dual USB ports and a 400-lumen light. It states a 74 Wh capacity, 10 protection systems and a 24-month warranty.

  • Peak current: 5000A (the listing says)

  • Weight: 2.2 pounds; 6.61 x 3.37 x 1.7 inches (the listing says)
  • Warranty: 24 months (the listing says)
  • Included: smart jumper cables, USB-A to C cable without adapter, carrying case, user manual (the listing says)

Pick it if you want the lightest and smallest unit here, with a stated watt-hour capacity and a 24-month warranty. Skip it if you need an air compressor, because the listing does not include one. The limit: the listing says the AC adapter is not included in the package.

  • Included: smart jumper cables, hoses, vacuum and blower attachments, two adapters, Type-C cable, storage case (the listing says)

Pick it if you want the inflator and the vacuum attachment in one kit. Skip it if you need a peak current above 4000A; the Giroago, KeenPower, Povasee, AWTFYCPY and PHSDOR listings state more. The limit: the listing says to make sure battery power exceeds 50% before start-up, and this post repeats that only as the listing’s instruction.

PHSDOR N5-A2 8000A jump starter

The listing describes a 2026 design with an 8000A peak, a 160 PSI maximum inflation mode, a 600-lumen light and a 12-point protection system. It says the unit starts all gasoline engines and 10L diesel engines in a -4°F to 140°F range.

Pick it if you want an 8000A unit with a compact body. Skip it if you need a starting-pressure figure for tire inflation, because the listing gives only the time to 25 PSI. The limit: the listing gives no battery capacity and no warranty figure beyond its 2-year returns and support line.

How we chose

We searched Amazon for best jump starter on 2026-10-22, read nine portable units, and read one under-hood unit to confirm it is a different product. We kept units that the listing describes as a portable car battery jump starter, with a stated peak current. We left out one ANCEL unit that the listing describes as installed under the hood and connected all the time, because that is a different product. We also left out a combined duster and jump starter from the same results. The order of the sections follows the order in which we read the listings. It is not a ranking, and we did not score the units.

What we could not verify

Most listings in this set state peak current, and none of the ones we read states cranking amps. Most also do not state a battery capacity in amp-hours, or the number of starts at a given temperature. We can confirm only what the listings state. The listed tire inflation times are the listings’ own, not figures we confirmed.

What the sources do not say

  • The sources do not say how many starts each unit gives at cold temperatures. Only the Povasee and INLAAPUM listings state a count.
  • The Giroago listing’s overview field reads 1 volts, which conflicts with the 12V in its bullets.
  • The KeenPower listing gives 6000A in its title and 6285A in its amperage field.
  • The Clore listing gives no engine rating, so its fit for a given engine cannot be checked from the listing.

Buying checklist

  1. Check your engine size and fuel type, then compare the listing’s engine rating. The Povasee listing states the largest gasoline rating in the set, 10L, and the PHSDOR listings state all gasoline engines.
  2. Decide whether you need an air compressor. The Clore and KeenPower listings state none.
  3. Check the warranty. Only the GOOLOO A3 and Povasee listings state a warranty period.
  4. Check the included cables and clamps. The Povasee listing says the AC adapter is not included.
  5. Read the listing’s own instruction on charge level before a start. The Giroago listing says to start the car when power is greater than 75 percent, and the INLAAPUM listing says to make sure battery power exceeds 50 percent.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Comparing peak amps across listings as if they were the same figure. Each listing defines its own peak.
  • Trusting the Giroago overview field, which reads 1 volts.
  • Expecting an air compressor on the Clore or the KeenPower listing, which state none.
  • Buying the ANCEL unit for a dead battery on the road. The listing describes it as installed under the hood.

FAQ

What does peak amps mean on a jump starter listing?

Peak amps is the highest current a unit states it can deliver for a short time. The listings in this set use the term for their own figure. Most do not state the cranking amps that a starter motor uses, so the peak number cannot be compared one for one with another listing.

Which jump starter here has an air compressor?

Six listings state an air compressor: the Giroago, GOOLOO A3, AWTFYCPY, both PHSDOR listings and INLAAPUM. The Clore, KeenPower and Povasee listings state none. The GOOLOO A3 states 150 PSI and 35 L/min, and the INLAAPUM states 150PSI and 35L/Min.

Can I use a jump starter in cold weather?

The listings give operating ranges, which are the listing’s own claims. The Giroago listing says -4°F to 122°F, the PHSDOR listings say -4°F to 140°F, and the KeenPower listing says down to -45°F. None of the sources we opened says how many starts a unit gives at those temperatures.

Do the jump starters include cables?

Most do. The GOOLOO A3, Povasee, INLAAPUM and PHSDOR 8000A listings name smart jumper cables in the box, and the Giroago lists heavy-duty smart clamps. The Clore listing states 46-inch heavy-duty #2 AWG cables.

How often should I recharge a jump starter?

The GOOLOO A3 listing says to recharge it at least once every three months during long-term storage, and the Giroago listing says to recharge every two to three months. Follow the listing for your unit, and check the charge level before you store it.

Does the ANCEL BS200 work as a portable jump starter?

No. The listing describes a system that stays connected under the hood and works as part of the vehicle after installation. It was read and left out of this post.

Bottom line

If you need a jump starter that also inflates tires and has a stated warranty, choose the GOOLOO A3, the only listing in this set that states both a 150 PSI compressor and a warranty period.
