Best Battery Pole Saw

Best Battery Pole Saw

The best battery pole saw is the one that runs on a battery you already own, reaches your highest branch, and weighs little enough to hold overhead. None of the eight saws in this guide includes a battery or charger. Seven listings say so directly, and the eighth has Tool Only in its title. Five listings name DeWalt 20V MAX, two name Milwaukee M18, and one names Ryobi ONE+. Stated reach runs from 9.5 feet to 16 feet, and stated weight runs from 6.5 to 8.5 pounds. This guide shows only what each listing says.

Quick answer

  • Start with the battery you own: DeWalt 20V MAX has five listings here, Milwaukee M18 has two, and Ryobi ONE+ has one.
  • The longest stated reach is 16 feet on the Ecarke listing, which gives that figure for a 6-foot user. The shortest is 9.5 feet on the Ryobi P4360.
  • The lightest stated weight is 6.5 pounds on the worksky listing. The heaviest is 8.5 pounds on the Grasstigon listing.
  • Budget for a battery and charger. The Houselife Milwaukee listing recommends a pack rated 4.0Ah or higher for optimal cutting power.

Start with the battery you already own

The battery platform narrows this list faster than any other spec. Each listing names one platform and says its saw works with batteries from that platform. A DeWalt 20V MAX owner has five options here, from HEINPRO, Houselife, Ecarke, Grasstigon and worksky. A Milwaukee M18 owner has two, both from HEINPRO or Houselife. A Ryobi ONE+ owner has one, the Ryobi P4360 bare tool.

Compatibility is the seller’s claim, and none of these sources checks it against your battery. The Ecarke listing gives model numbers such as DCB200 and DCB606 and says “and more”. The other listings name the platform only. Confirm the platform name and the pack rating against your own battery before you order. If you also run DeWalt 20V MAX tools for pruning, our DeWalt 20V MAX pole hedge trimmer guide covers that tool on the same platform.

Stated specs side by side

The table lists only what each listing states. A cell that says not stated means the listing is silent on that point.

Saw Battery platform Stated reach Weight Oiling Warranty
HEINPRO (DeWalt) DeWalt 20V MAX 14.2 ft at shoulder height, 6 ft user 6.7 lb Automatic Limited, length not stated
Houselife (DeWalt) DeWalt 20V Up to 14.8 ft 7 lb Automatic not stated
Houselife (Milwaukee) Milwaukee M18 18V Up to 14.8 ft 7 lb Automatic, oil not included 1 year limited
Ecarke DeWalt Up to 16 ft, 6 ft user 6.8 lb Automatic not stated
HEINPRO (Milwaukee) Milwaukee M18 series 14.2 ft at shoulder height, 6 ft user 6.7 lb Automatic not stated
Grasstigon DeWalt 20V MAX Up to 14 ft in one place, up to 15 ft in another 8.5 lb Automatic 1 year
worksky DeWalt 20V MAX 14.2 ft in the title, 7.8 ft pole in a bullet 6.5 lb Automatic not stated
Ryobi P4360 Ryobi ONE+ 18V Up to 9.5 ft with extension pole not stated not stated not stated

Two calculations come from these rows. The reach spread is 16 feet minus 9.5 feet, or 6.5 feet, between the Ecarke and Ryobi listings. Only three listings, both HEINPRO models and the Ecarke, state the user height behind their figures, so compare the other reach numbers with care. The weight spread is 8.5 pounds minus 6.5 pounds, or 2 pounds. That is about 31 percent more than the lightest saw, since 2 divided by 6.5 is 0.31.

The eight listings

The sections below group the saws by battery platform: DeWalt first, then Milwaukee, then Ryobi. The grouping does not rank them. Each section gives what the listing says, the specs it states, and one case where that saw may not suit you.

HEINPRO Cordless Pole Saw, DeWalt 20V MAX compatible

This 8-inch pole saw sits on an extension pole that the listing says reaches 14.2 feet at shoulder height for a 6-foot user. The listing says it is designed to be compatible with DeWalt 20V MAX lithium-ion batteries. Its bullets describe a detachable extension pole, while its included-items list says fixed-length, a conflict the section called What the sources do not say covers.

Battery platform DeWalt 20V MAX
Stated reach 14.2 ft max cutting height at shoulder height, 6 ft user
Guide bar and chain 8-inch bar, 3/8 inch pitch, 0.050 inch gauge, 33 drive links
Weight 6.7 lb
Oiling Automatic
Lock Dual-side lock trigger

Skip it if you own a Milwaukee or Ryobi pack, because the listing names only DeWalt 20V MAX.

Houselife 8-Inch Cordless Pole Saw, DeWalt 20V tool only

This listing is titled as a tool only saw, and it says it works with the DeWalt 20V batteries you already own. The telescoping pole extends from 7.4 to 8.8 feet, and the listing gives an overhead reach of up to 14.8 feet. The four-position head pivots up to 45 degrees, the same angle figure the Houselife Milwaukee listing gives. The listing says the chain tightens in seconds without a wrench.

Houselife 8-Inch Cordless Pole Saw, Milwaukee M18 compatible

This bare tool is built to run on Milwaukee M18 18V packs you already own. The listing says a battery rated 4.0Ah or higher gives optimal cutting power, and that lower-capacity batteries may give reduced performance. It has a telescoping pole that extends from 7.4 to 8.8 feet, a four-angle pivot head that reaches up to 45 degrees, and an 8-inch low-kickback chain.

Spec What the listing states
Battery platform Milwaukee M18 18V
Battery recommendation Rated 4.0Ah or higher for optimal cutting power
Battery and charger Not included
Stated reach Up to 14.8 ft total
Pole 7.4 to 8.8 ft telescoping
Head Four-angle pivot, up to 45 degrees
Oiling Automatic oiler, oil not included
Weight 7 lb

Included Bare tool

Skip it if your Milwaukee packs are rated below 4.0Ah, because the listing says lower-capacity packs may reduce performance.

Ecarke Pole Saw, DeWalt 20V tool only

The Ecarke listing has the largest stated reach in this guide, up to 16 feet, and it gives that figure for a 6-foot user. Its pole extends from 7 to 10 feet. The listing names DeWalt batteries and gives model numbers such as DCB200 and DCB606. Its listed kit has more items than any other listing here, from a stabilizer handle and spare chain to goggles, gloves and a branch hook.

Spec What the listing states
Battery platform DeWalt; model numbers such as DCB200 and DCB606 listed, and more
Battery and charger Not included; title says Tool Only
Stated reach Up to 16 ft, based on a 6-foot user
Pole 7 to 10 ft

Oiling Automatic chain lubrication with a transparent oil tank
Weight 6.8 lb
Head not stated
Warranty not stated
Included Pole saw unit, stabilizer handle, spare chain, guide bar cover, empty oil bottle, shoulder strap, goggles, gloves, branch hook

Skip it if the reach must hold for someone shorter than 6 feet, because the listing gives its 16-foot figure only for a 6-foot user.

HEINPRO Cordless Pole Saw, Milwaukee M18 compatible

This is the Milwaukee version of the HEINPRO design in the first section. The listing says it is compatible with Milwaukee M18 series lithium-ion batteries and that the battery and charger are not included. It states the same 14.2-foot maximum at shoulder height for a 6-foot user, plus the same 8-inch bar and 33-link chain. Its specification field reads 20 volts, while its title and bullets name the Milwaukee M18 series.

Spec What the listing states
Battery platform Milwaukee M18 series
Battery and charger Not included
Stated reach 14.2 ft max at shoulder height, 6 ft user
Extension pole Detachable in the bullets, fixed-length in the included items

Oiling Automatic
Lock Dual-side lock trigger
Specification field 20 volts, as listed
Weight 6.7 lb
Warranty not stated

Skip it if you want the listing’s own specs to match its platform name, because the specification field reads 20 volts while the title names Milwaukee M18.

Grasstigon 8-Inch Cordless Pole Saw, DeWalt 20V MAX tool only

The listing describes a tool only pole saw that works with existing DeWalt 20V MAX batteries. At 8.5 pounds it is the heaviest saw in this guide. It has a three-position head set at 0, 15 or 30 degrees, and the listing says the chain tensions without tools and oils automatically. Its reach figure is not consistent inside the listing: the About section says up to 14 feet, and a summary bullet says up to 15 feet.

Spec What the listing states
Battery platform DeWalt 20V MAX, tool only
Battery and charger Not included
Stated reach Up to 14 ft (About section), up to 15 ft (summary bullet)
Head Three positions, 0, 15 and 30 degrees
Bar 8 inches
Chain tensioning Tool-free
Oiling Automatic
Weight 8.5 lb
Warranty 1-year warranty

Skip it if weight is your main concern, since at 8.5 pounds this is the heaviest saw the listings state.

worksky 8-Inch Pole Saw with Detachable Chainsaw, DeWalt 20V

This listing is for a pole saw sold with no battery and no charger. Its title says the reach is 14.2 feet, while its bullets describe a 7.8-foot telescopic pole, and the listing does not say how the larger figure is reached. The motor is brushless, with a stated no-load speed of 16,000 rpm and a chain speed of 20 feet per second. At 6.5 pounds it is the lightest saw with a stated weight. It is also the only one of the eight listings that says the 8-inch chainsaw detaches for handheld cutting.

Spec What the listing states
Battery platform DeWalt 20V MAX compatibility, as the listing states
Battery and charger None included
Stated reach 14.2 ft max (title)
Pole 7.8 ft telescopic (bullet)
Handheld use Chainsaw detaches from the pole
Motor Brushless, 16,000 rpm no-load speed
Chain 1/4 inch pitch, 45 drive links, 20 ft/s chain speed
Oiling Automatic
Lock Built-in lock that the listing says prevents accidental starts
Weight 6.5 lb
Warranty not stated

Skip it if you need the 14.2-foot figure confirmed by the bullets, since only the title gives it.

Ryobi P4360 18V 8-Inch Cordless Pole Saw, bare tool

This is the only Ryobi model in the guide. The listing says it works with all Ryobi ONE+ tools and batteries, and that the battery and charger are not included. It has an angled head, and its description says the pole extends up to 9.5 feet with the extension pole. That is the shortest stated reach here. The listing also says it ships with all relevant accessories, so check the box contents when it arrives.

Spec What the listing states

Battery and charger Not included
Stated reach Up to 9.5 ft with the extension pole
Head Angled head
Weight not stated

Skip it if you need reach beyond 9.5 feet, because the listing gives no longer figure for this model.

How we chose

We started from the first results page for battery pole saw, which showed more cordless pole saws than we read. The criteria were plain: a cordless saw that mounts on an extension or telescoping pole and runs on a named battery platform. We left out manual pole saws, gas models, replacement chains and parts, and mini chainsaws that do not mount on a pole. We did not choose or order the saws by cost or by customer ratings.

We read eight listings in total. Three were opened on 2026-10-22: the Houselife DeWalt, the Grasstigon and the Ryobi. The other five were not opened again. Their title, bullets and specs were already stored from earlier reads on 2026-10-12 and 2026-10-13, and this guide uses those stored details as they stood. The sections are grouped by battery platform, and this guide does not rank them.

What we could not verify

  • How any of these saws performs on real branches. The sources are listings, and listings do not report performance results.
  • Whether a named battery fits your particular pack. The compatibility lines are the sellers’ own claims.
  • How long a charge lasts. None of the eight listings gives a runtime.
  • The largest branch each saw cuts. No listing states a maximum branch diameter.
  • The warranty for six of the eight saws. Only the Houselife Milwaukee and Grasstigon listings state a length.

What the sources do not say

  • Only the two HEINPRO listings and the Ecarke listing state the user height behind their reach figures.
  • Both HEINPRO listings call the extension pole detachable in one bullet and fixed-length in the included items.
  • The HEINPRO Milwaukee specification field reads 20 volts, while its title and bullets name the Milwaukee M18 series.
  • The Grasstigon listing states up to 14 feet in one place and up to 15 feet in another.
  • The worksky title says 14.2 feet, and the bullets describe a 7.8-foot telescopic pole. The worksky listing does not say how the larger figure is reached.
  • The Ryobi listing says it ships with all relevant accessories and also says the battery and charger are not included. It gives no weight, chain or oiling details.
  • No listing states how much branch a saw cuts, how long a battery lasts, or how much bar oil the saw holds.
  • This guide gives no operating or cutting steps, because the listings do not give them in a form we can quote.

FAQ

Which battery should I buy for a battery pole saw?

Start with the battery you already own. The listings here name DeWalt 20V MAX, Milwaukee M18 and Ryobi ONE+ packs, and none of them includes a battery. If you own none of those platforms, choose a platform first and then compare only the saws that name it.

How much reach do I need?

The listings give these figures as reach, not as guaranteed cutting heights, and they range from 9.5 feet to 16 feet. The 16-foot figure from the Ecarke listing assumes a 6-foot user. Check the height of the highest branch you want to cut, then choose a saw whose stated reach clears it. For a side-by-side of two other pole saw brands, see our Seesii and EGO Power+ pole saws compared guide.

Does any of these saws include a battery?

No. Seven listings say the battery and charger are not included, and four titles say tool only or bare tool. Budget for a battery and charger if you do not already own them.

Does the Milwaukee model need a particular battery size?

The Houselife Milwaukee listing says a battery rated 4.0Ah or higher gives optimal cutting power, and that lower-capacity batteries may reduce performance. The HEINPRO Milwaukee listing does not state a capacity requirement. Use the listing’s own recommendation when you choose a pack.

Do I need to add bar oil?

Seven of the eight listings describe automatic oiling. The Houselife Milwaukee listing says oil is not included, and the Ecarke kit includes an empty oil bottle. Read the oiling section of the manual before the first use, and plan for the oil you will need across a full season of trimming.

Does a lighter saw reach less?

Not in these listings. The worksky saw is the lightest stated at 6.5 pounds and gives a 14.2-foot title reach, while the Ecarke saw weighs 6.8 pounds and gives up to 16 feet. The Grasstigon saw is the heaviest at 8.5 pounds, with reach stated as 14 to 15 feet. The Ryobi listing states no weight, so it cannot be placed on that comparison.

Bottom line

Pick the listing that names the battery you already own, then choose the one whose stated reach clears your highest branch. If no listing names your battery, buy the battery platform first and then come back to this list.
