Best Cordless Brad Nailer
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
The best cordless brad nailer for trim and baseboard work is usually the one that runs on a battery you already own and whose listing states the nail length you need. We compared nine brad nailer listings and wrote down what each one states: the battery platform it names, whether a battery and charger come in the box, the brad nail range, the fastener count and the warranty. Most of the nine are sold as compatible with a DeWalt 20V battery rather than as DeWalt tools, so the battery claim belongs to each seller, and we say so for every listing.
Quick answer
- If you want a DeWalt-brand tool and already own a DeWalt 20V MAX battery, the DEWALT DCN680B is the only DeWalt listing in the set. It is tool only, and its brad nail range is 5/8 inch to 2-1/8 inch, the longest stated range here.
- If you own no batteries, the AXIDA listing is the only one that includes its batteries and a charger: two 2.0Ah 21V lithium batteries and a fast charger, with straight brad nails from 5/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch.
- For a kit with the most fasteners in the box, the SXGSXG and B0H7C7RYQG listings each state 2,000 fasteners, split between brad nails and staples.
- Read the battery line before you compare nail ranges, because five listings say they are compatible with a DeWalt 20V battery but do not include one.
Specs side by side
Each row copies the figures from the listing. “not stated” means the listing is silent. Battery compatibility is the seller’s claim unless a listing says a battery is included. The table lists the listings in the order we read them, not in rank order.
| Model (as listed) | Battery platform | Battery and charger | Brad nail range | Fasteners in the box | Item weight | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DEWALT DCN680B | DEWALT 20V MAX | not included (tool only) | 5/8 in to 2-1/8 in | not stated | 1.8 kg | warranty page linked; length not stated |
| CRAFTSMAN V20 CMCN618B | V20 | sold separately | not stated | not stated | not stated | can be requested; no length stated |
| MtiolHig 2 in 1 | DEWALT 20V (stated compatible) | not included | 3/4 in to 2 in | 1000 (fasteners field) | not stated | not stated |
| SXGSXG 2 in 1 (BN01) | DEWALT 20V (stated compatible) | not included (tool only) | 1/4 in to 5/8 in (6 to 16 mm), brad | 1,000 brad nails and 1,000 staples | not stated | not stated |
| KEENTECH KT-DF1832 | DEWALT 20V (stated compatible) | not included | 3/8 in to 1-1/4 in (bullet) | 1000 (title) | 4.8 pounds | 3-year after-sales service (bullet) |
| ReliaRoads 2 in 1 | MILWAUKEE 18V (title) | not included | 5/8 in to 2 in (bullet) | 1,600 nails and staples | not stated | not stated |
| AXIDA 2 in 1 | 21V lithium | two 2.0Ah batteries and fast charger included | 5/8 in to 1-1/4 in (bullet) | not stated | not stated | not stated |
| Cordless Brad Nailer (YS-JR-DQ-01) | DEWALT 20V (stated compatible) | not included (tool only) | 5/8 in to 1-1/4 in (field) | not stated | 6.21 pounds (field) | not stated |
| 3-in-1 staple gun and brad nailer | DEWALT 20V MAX (stated compatible) | not included | 1/4 in to 5/8 in (6 to 16 mm), brad | 1000 brad and 1000 10J staples (2000) | 3.01 pounds (bullet) | not stated |
Battery platform arithmetic
Because most of these tools depend on the battery, we counted how the nine listings name their platform.
- DEWALT 20V (stated compatible, battery not included): MtiolHig, SXGSXG, KEENTECH, the Cordless Brad Nailer (YS-JR-DQ-01) and the 3-in-1 staple gun and brad nailer. That is five listings.
- DEWALT-brand tool: the DCN680B. That is one listing.
- Other platforms: CRAFTSMAN V20 (battery sold separately), ReliaRoads (MILWAUKEE 18V, battery not included) and AXIDA (21V lithium, with two batteries included). That is three listings.
Five of nine listings therefore need a DeWalt 20V battery you do not get in the box, and only one of those five, the DCN680B, is a DeWalt-brand tool. Check the battery model list in the listing against the battery you own before you order a compatible tool. For how a DeWalt battery platform is treated on another tool, see our guide to DeWalt leaf blower batteries, and for how battery volts and amps are described on tool pages, see our lawn and garden battery volts and amps guide.
Quick nail-range check
Nail range is the figure most buyers need after the battery. The listings state it in different units and different wording, so we list only what each one says. The longest brad nail stated in this set is the DCN680B at 2-1/8 inch. The SXGSXG and 3-in-1 listings both start at 1/4 inch for brad nails, the lowest starting length in the set, and both stop at 5/8 inch. The ReliaRoads listing states a brad range of 5/8 inch to 2 inch and a staple range up to 1-5/8 inch, and the 3-in-1 listing states 1/4 inch to 5/8 inch for brad nails, T50 and 10J staples.
The nine listings, one by one
The sections below are not ranked. Each one names the figures from the listing, a skip condition and one limit.
DEWALT DCN680B 18 GA cordless brad nailer, tool only
The DCN680B is the only DeWalt-brand tool in this set. The listing describes 18 gauge brad nails from 5/8 inch to 2-1/8 inch, a brushless motor, tool-free depth adjustment and a tool-free jam release. It can be set to sequential or contact firing modes with a selectable trigger.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V MAX (product description)
- Battery and charger: not included (the title says Tool Only)
- Brad nail range: 5/8 in to 2-1/8 in (product description)
- Item weight: 1.8 kg
- Included: the DCN680 brad nailer only
- Warranty: the page links to a warranty information page, and no length is stated
Skip it if you need a battery in the box, because the title and the included list both show the tool alone. The listing also gives a maximum initial battery figure of 20 and a nominal figure of 18, so check which one applies to your battery before you buy.
CRAFTSMAN V20 CMCN618B cordless brad nailer
The CRAFTSMAN is a bare tool for the V20 platform, with a belt hook and a tool-free jam and stall setting. The listing gives a runtime of up to 420 nails per charge, with a footnote the captured text does not expand. It does not state a brad nail range or an item weight.
- Battery platform: V20
- Battery and charger: sold separately
- Brad nail range: not stated
- Runtime: up to 420 nails per charge, per the listing
- Item weight: not stated
- Warranty: the listing says it can be requested from customer service, with no length stated
Skip it if you do not already own a V20 battery, because the battery and charger are an extra purchase. The footnote on the runtime figure is incomplete in the text we read.
MtiolHig 2 in 1 brad nailer compatible with DEWALT 20V
The MtiolHig listing is a 2-in-1 nail gun that the title says is compatible with a DEWALT 20V battery and sold without one. It drives brad nails from 3/4 inch to 2 inch and staples from 3/4 inch to 1-5/8 inch, and it holds up to 100 nails in its magazine. The listing gives 1000 fasteners in the box and describes single and contact firing modes, a depth knob and LED lights.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V (stated compatible)
- Battery: not included
- Brad nail range: 3/4 in to 2 in
- Staple range: 3/4 in to 1-5/8 in
- Fasteners: 1000 (fasteners field and title)
- Magazine: up to 100 nails
- Item weight and warranty: not stated
Skip it if you need a stated weight or warranty, because the listing gives neither. The compatibility claim is the seller’s, and the listing does not say that DEWALT makes or endorses the tool.
SXGSXG 2 in 1 cordless nail gun and brad nailer, tool only
The SXGSXG listing is a 2-in-1 tool that drives brad nails and 10.6 mm crown staples. The listing gives a brad range of 1/4 inch to 5/8 inch (6 to 16 mm), and it states 1,000 brad nails and 1,000 staples in the box, or 2,000 fasteners in all. It describes single-shot and bump-firing modes, and it names a list of DEWALT 20V batteries it fits, including the DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205 and DCB206 models.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V lithium-ion, with the model list above
- Battery and charger: not included (bare tool only)
- Brad nail range: 1/4 in to 5/8 in (6 to 16 mm)
- Staple range: 10.6 mm crown staples, 1/4 in to 5/8 in
- Fasteners: 1,000 brad nails and 1,000 staples
- Item weight and warranty: not stated
Skip it if you need T50 3/8 inch crown staples, because the listing says the tool is not compatible with them. The operation mode field says Automatic, while the bullets describe single-shot and bump-firing modes, and the listing does not reconcile the two.
The listing’s model number is BN01, which is the number to match if you contact the seller about a fit question.
KEENTECH KT-DF1832 18 GA cordless brad nailer
The KEENTECH nailer is a cylinder-driven tool with two firing modes, a lock switch and a light. The bullets give a brad range of 3/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch (10 to 32 mm), and the title says it drives 3/8 to 1-1/4 inch nails. The listing gives a weight of 4.8 pounds in its technical details and a 3-year after-sales service with replacements rather than repairs.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V (stated compatible, with a list of battery models in the bullets)
- Battery: not included
- Brad nail range: 3/8 in to 1-1/4 in (10 to 32 mm, per bullet)
- Fasteners: 1000 (title)
- Item weight: 4.8 pounds (technical details)
- Warranty: 3-year after-sales service with replacements, per the bullet
Skip it if you need to be sure of the nail count, because one bullet says the kit includes 1,000 pieces of 1 inch brad nails while the title gives a 3/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch range. The two claims do not agree, so check the box contents with the seller.
ReliaRoads 2 in 1 cordless brad nailer, battery not included
The ReliaRoads listing is a 2-in-1 18 gauge nailer and stapler that its title says is compatible with a MILWAUKEE 18V battery. The bullets give a brad range of 5/8 inch to 2 inch, a staple range up to 1-5/8 inch and a magazine of up to 100 fasteners. The listing includes 1,600 nails and staples, a nail puller and goggles, and it says more than 500 nails are possible on a 2.0Ah battery.
- Battery platform: MILWAUKEE 18V (title and first bullet)
- Battery: not included
- Brad nail range: 5/8 in to 2 in (bullet)
- Staple range: up to 1-5/8 in (bullet)
- Fasteners: 1,600 nails and staples
- Runtime: more than 500 nails with a 2.0Ah battery (bullet)
- Item weight and warranty: not stated
Skip it if you own DEWALT batteries, because the listing names a MILWAUKEE 18V platform and does not say it fits DEWALT. The runtime figure is for a 2.0Ah battery that the listing does not include.
AXIDA 2 in 1 cordless brad nailer with two batteries
The AXIDA listing is the only one in this set that includes batteries and a charger. The kit has two 2.0Ah 21V lithium batteries and a fast charger, six adjustable depth levels, and a nailer that the listing says drives straight brad nails from 5/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch and staples from 5/8 inch to 1 inch.
- Battery platform: 21V lithium
- Battery and charger: two 2.0Ah 21V batteries and a fast charger, included
- Brad nail range: 5/8 in to 1-1/4 in (straight nails, bullet)
- Staple range: 5/8 in to 1 in (bullet)
- Depth settings: 6 levels
- Fasteners: not stated (the Number of Fasteners field reads 1)
- Item weight and warranty: not stated
Skip it if you already own a 20V battery platform, because the batteries in this kit are 21V and the listing does not say they fit any other tool. The bullets mention a 30-day return window and a 24-hour after-service, but the listing does not give a warranty length.
Cordless brad nailer compatible with DEWALT 20V, tool only (YS-JR-DQ-01)
This listing is a brad nailer with an LED light and a belt hook, and it is sold without a battery. The listing gives a brad range of 5/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch in its spec field and a staple range of 5/8 inch to 1 inch in crown staples. The item weight is 6.21 pounds, and the listing separately gives 5.3 pounds for the machine alone.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V (stated compatible, with battery models named in the bullets)
- Battery and charger: not included (the listing says Pay Attention! Tool only)
- Brad nail range: 5/8 in to 1-1/4 in (spec field)
- Staple range: 5/8 in to 1 in crown staples (spec field)
- Item weight: 6.21 pounds; machine weight 5.3 pounds
- Model number: YS-JR-DQ-01
- Warranty: not stated
Skip it if you want a stated fastener count, because the listing does not give one. The listing’s two weight figures are the item and the machine, so compare like with like before you judge the weight.
3-in-1 cordless staple gun and brad nailer compatible with DEWALT 20V MAX
The 3-in-1 listing combines a staple gun and a brad nailer, and it states that 1000 brad nails and 1000 10J crown staples are included, for 2000 fasteners in all. The listing gives firing rates of 120 to 150 fasteners a minute, a 90-fastener magazine and a depth of up to 5/8 inch. It describes two firing modes, single shot and continuous, and a tool-free depth knob.
- Battery platform: DEWALT 20V MAX (named models include DCB181, DCB182, DCB200 and DCB203 through DCB206)
- Battery and charger: not included
- Brad nail range: 1/4 in to 5/8 in (6 to 16 mm), per the listing for brad nails, T50 and 10J staples
- Fasteners: 1000 brad nails and 1000 10J staples (2000 total)
- Rate: 120 to 150 fasteners per minute (bullet)
- Item weight: 3.01 lb (bullet)
- Warranty: not stated
Skip it if you need a single-purpose brad nailer, because this tool is built to drive staples too.
How we chose
We began with the keyword and the nine listings we had already read for the same products. The stored text and its dates are the basis for every figure in this post. Seven of the listings were read on 2026-10-22 and two on 2026-10-14, and each source line shows its own date. We did not reopen those pages for this post. We kept the tools whose titles or specs say brad nailer or brad nails, and we left out a 2-in-1 nail gun and staple gun whose title does not name a brad nailer. The sections are not ranked.
What we could not verify
We could not verify any battery compatibility claim for the third-party tools. Each listing says it fits a DeWalt or MILWAUKEE battery, and we did not confirm that against either brand. We also could not verify the runtime figures, the firing rate, the magazine count or the nail counts beyond what each listing states. Where a listing gives two figures that disagree, such as the KEENTECH nail count or the YS-JR-DQ-01 weight, we show both and do not choose one.
What the sources do not say
The listings do not say how the third-party tools perform against the DeWalt or CRAFTSMAN originals on the same job. Several do not give an item weight, and the CRAFTSMAN and ReliaRoads listings do not give a brad nail range. The AXIDA listing gives no fastener count, although its kit includes two batteries and a charger. None of the listings state a warranty length except the KEENTECH bullet, and the CRAFTSMAN listing says a warranty can be requested without a length.
FAQ
Will a compatible nailer work with my DeWalt battery?
The listings say so, but they are the seller’s claims. Five of the nine listings name a DeWalt 20V battery as compatible, and the SXGSXG listing names specific battery models. Match the model list against your battery before you order, and do not rely on the title alone.
What nail gauge do these tools use?
The DCN680B listing says it drives 18 gauge brad nails, and the CRAFTSMAN title says 18GA. Other listings describe brad nails by length rather than gauge. Check the nail gauge on the box or the fastener packaging before you buy a nail pack.
Do the listings include nails?
Some do. The MtiolHig listing states 1000 fasteners, the SXGSXG listing states 2,000 fasteners split between brad nails and staples, the ReliaRoads listing states 1,600, and the 3-in-1 listing states 2000. The DCN680B and the CRAFTSMAN listings name only the tool, and the AXIDA fastener field reads 1.
What does tool only mean on these listings?
Tool only means the battery and charger are not in the box. The DCN680B, the CRAFTSMAN, the SXGSXG, the KEENTECH and the 3-in-1 listing say so, and the YS-JR-DQ-01 listing says Pay Attention! Tool only. The AXIDA listing is the one that includes batteries and a charger.
Can a brad nailer also drive staples?
Several listings say yes. The SXGSXG, ReliaRoads, AXIDA and 3-in-1 listings each name a staple range, and the 3-in-1 listing states 10J crown staples. The DCN680B and the CRAFTSMAN listing name brad nails only. Check the staple range against the crown size you need.
Which listings state a warranty?
Only the KEENTECH listing states a length, which is 3 years of after-sales service with replacements rather than repairs. The DCN680B links to a warranty page without a length, the CRAFTSMAN says it can be requested, and the rest state no warranty.
Bottom line
Choose by the battery you already own: if you own a DeWalt 20V battery, pick a compatible listing whose model list includes it and whose fastener count you need, and if you own no batteries, buy the AXIDA kit that includes two batteries and a charger.
