Electric Mower Comparison

Electric Mower Comparison

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

This electric mower comparison covers six corded and battery mowers from one scanned product list. It suits a homeowner with a small to mid-size yard who wants to know which models include a battery and charger and which ship tool only. Where the listings do not state a figure, the table says “not stated.” The list does not rank the mowers, and every figure comes from the listings or from the sources named below.

Quick answer

  • Corded: the BLACK+DECKER BESTA512CM, DORTALA and CRAFTSMAN listings all name a corded electric mower.
  • Battery: the LiTHELi listing includes one 4.0 Ah battery; the EGO LM2130SP is tool only, so a battery and charger must be bought separately.
  • Deck width: the EGO LM2130SP has the widest deck at 21 inches, and the BLACK+DECKER combo has the narrowest at 12 inches.
  • Decide on power first, then check what the box contains, because the box contents change the real purchase.

Comparison table: what the listings state

Each row is one mower from the product list. Figures are as the listing states them, and “not stated” means that neither the listing nor the opened sources give the figure. The rows follow the order in the product list, which is not a ranking.

Product Power source Cutting width Cutting height (as listed) Battery and charger in the box Item weight Warranty (as listed) Source
BLACK+DECKER BESTA512CM combo Corded electric, 6.5 amp 12 inches 1.6 inches (listed as both minimum and maximum) Not applicable (corded) 9.9 pounds 2 year limited Listing
LiTHELi 13-inch cordless mower Battery powered 13 inches 1 to 2.5 inches (one bullet); 3 inches maximum and 13 inches minimum (specification fields) One 4.0 Ah battery and one charging cable 24 pounds 3 years machine, 2 years battery (listing bullet) Listing
DORTALA 13-inch corded mower Corded electric, 1400W, 12 amp 13 inches 0.99, 1.77 and 2.56 inches (3 settings) Not applicable (corded) 18.5 pounds Not stated Listing

LawnMaster 19-inch electric mower Electric; corded or battery not stated; 12 amp 19 inches 1.5 to 4 inches Not stated 28.3 pounds Not stated Listing

Product notes

Each section below gives the listing’s own figures and labels them as the listing says. The reason each mower is in the post comes from its own data. Where a listing contradicts itself, the section shows both figures.

BLACK+DECKER BESTA512CM 3-in-1 combo

The listing says this is a corded electric lawn mower with a 12-inch cutting width and a 6.5 amp motor. It also works as a string trimmer and an edger, and the listing names it as a combo rather than a dedicated push mower. The box, according to the listing, holds the string trimmer, a detachable mower deck, a spool, an auxiliary handle and a guard. Cord length is not stated.

It is in this post because its listing classifies it as an electric lawn mower with a detachable deck, and it weighs 9.9 pounds, the lowest figure of the six. The listing gives 1.6 inches as both the minimum and the maximum cutting height across 12 positions, and it does not explain the spread. For more on this model, see a closer look at the BESTA512CM combo mower.

LiTHELi 13-inch cordless mower

The listing says this mower is battery powered, with a 13-inch cutting width, a 24-pound weight and an 8-gallon collection bag. The product content lists one 4.0 Ah battery and one matching charging cable, so a battery is in the box. The listing also says to use only the original U20 charger.

The listing disagrees with itself in three places, and this post shows each conflict rather than choosing one. Cutting height is 1 to 2.5 inches in one bullet but 3 inches maximum and 13 inches minimum in the specification fields. The battery is 4.0 Ah in the title and product content, but another bullet describes a 20,000mAh battery. The runtime bullets give up to 1,300 square feet on a full charge, which is a manufacturer claim, and they also say the included battery can work continuously for 15 minutes. If a battery stops charging, see troubleshooting a lawn mower battery that will not charge. For the trade-offs of battery mowers in general, see the pros and cons of battery-powered lawn mowers.

It is in this post because it is the only battery model in the list whose listing puts a battery in the box.

DORTALA 13-inch corded mower

The listing says this corded electric mower has a 1400W motor, a 13-inch deck and a 3,700 RPM rating. It describes a 30-liter (8-gallon) grass bag, a mulching function, a folding handle and a safety lockout that needs the safety button pressed before operation. The item weighs 18.5 pounds. The listing does not say whether the bag is in the box, and it does not give a cord length.

It is in this post because it is the second-lightest corded model in the list, after the BLACK+DECKER combo, and it lists both a bag and a mulching function. Its three cutting heights, 0.99, 1.77 and 2.56 inches, match between the bullet and the specification field. For a related guide on bags, see small electric lawn mowers with a bag.

CRAFTSMAN 20-inch corded push mower

The listing says this is a 20-inch corded push mower with a 13-amp motor and a 20.8-pound item weight. It offers mulching, bagging and side discharge, and its box includes the mower, a collection bag and a side discharge chute. The listing gives a 3-year limited warranty. The listing does not state cord length.

The height figures conflict. The title says “6 Setting Height Adjustment,” the specification field gives three positions, and a bullet says a single lever adjusts from 1-1/2 inches to 4 inches. The table uses the 1.5 to 4 inch range, because the bullet and the minimum and maximum fields agree on it. This model is a push mower; if you want drive assist, see the best self-propelled corded electric lawn mowers. For cord choices, see extension cords for electric lawn mowers.

It is in this post because it is the widest corded deck in the list, and it is the only corded model whose listing names a side discharge chute in the box.

EGO POWER+ LM2130SP self-propelled, tool only

The listing says this is a 21-inch self-propelled cordless mower on a 56V platform, weighing 54.5 pounds. It offers mulching, side discharge or bagging, with a two-bushel grass bag, plus a mulching plug and an IPX4 weather rating. The listing describes it as compatible with EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries, and it says up to 60 minutes of runtime with the recommended 56V 7.5Ah battery, which is sold separately. The listing gives a 5-year tool warranty.

This model is tool only. The EGO page for the Select Cut kit (LM2135SP) lists the LM2130SP with battery and charger not included, so the manufacturer’s page agrees with the listing. The kit page says the recommended battery gives up to 60 minutes, and it states eight cutting height positions from 1 to 4 inches. The listing gives seven positions in one field and eight in a bullet, so this post reports both. One specification field gives 1 hour for battery average life, and the listing does not say which battery that refers to. For battery voltage and amp-hour ratings, see battery voltage and amp-hour ratings for lawn mowers.

It is in this post because it is the only model in the list that the listing describes as self-propelled, and it has the widest deck, at 21 inches. The listing and the manufacturer page agree on what the box does not contain.

LawnMaster 19-inch electric mower

The listing says this is a 19-inch electric mower with a 12-amp motor and a 3,600 RPM speed. It offers mulching or side discharge, and it has six cutting positions from 1.5 to 4 inches, set with a one-touch height lever. The specification field gives an item weight of 28.3 pounds. The power source field reads Electric, and the listing does not say whether the mower is corded or battery powered. It does not state a bag, a warranty, a cord length or the box contents.

One bullet mentions “35Lbs” without a clear statement about the mower’s weight, so this post uses the specification figure of 28.3 pounds. It is in this post because it is the third-widest deck in the list, after the EGO and CRAFTSMAN models, and its 1.5 to 4 inch height range appears in both the bullets and the specification fields without conflict.

Safety rules for these electric mowers

These steps apply to the electric mowers in this post. Each one names the source it comes from, and the list of sources at the end gives the full link.

  • Disconnect power before you work on the mower. The UC mower equipment page says to disconnect power on electrical models before working on the mower. Ohio State Extension says to disconnect the spark or electric plug before repairing a mower. A cordless mower’s power source is its battery, so remove the battery before any blade or deck work.
  • Stop the motor before you clean or adjust the mower. The UC equipment page gives this rule for all mowers.
  • Keep hands and feet clear of the mowing parts, and never leave a running mower unattended. Both rules come from the UC equipment page.
  • Do not use an electric mower on wet grass. Ohio State Extension says so directly. For more on this, see mowing wet grass with an electric mower.
  • Do not spray the underside of the deck with water. EGO’s FAQ for its 21-inch self-propelled model LM2102SP, which is a different model from the LM2130SP, says not to spray the underside with water, and it says to remove the safety key and the battery before cleaning the underside.
  • Replace or sharpen a blade only with the power disconnected and the battery removed. The UC page and Ohio State Extension say to disconnect power before work on the mower. For blade questions on a related model, see Black and Decker lawn mower blades.
  • Keep lithium-ion batteries out of household trash. EPA says these batteries should not go in household garbage or recycling bins, and that they belong at a battery recycler or a household hazardous waste collection point. To reduce fire risk, EPA says to tape the terminals or place each battery in a separate plastic bag.
  • If a battery is damaged, contact the battery or device manufacturer for handling information. EPA also notes that not all batteries are removable or serviceable by the user, so do not open a battery.
  • Charge and store the battery as the manufacturer’s manual says. This post does not state charging or storage limits, because the manual is not among the sources we opened.

How we chose

The product list held 12 products from one scan, dated 2026-10-30 at 07:53. A product qualified if it was an electric or battery-powered lawn mower, as its listing classifies it. Six qualified. Six did not: two drill-bit adapters for starting engines, a jump-starter adapter, a starter motor for a riding mower, a zero-turn spreader attachment, and a listing that describes a robotic mower with automatic recharging. The list held no gas-powered mower, so no gas model had to be left out. Robotic and riding mowers, trimmers and accessories were left out by scope.

The BLACK+DECKER combo is included with a note. Its listing classifies it as an electric lawn mower with a detachable deck, even though it also trims and edges. The table follows the list order, which is not a ranking, and no performance results are included. The listing data was scanned on 2026-10-30, and every opened source was opened on 2026-10-30.

What we could not verify

  • Cord length and cord gauge for the three corded models. The listings do not state cord length, and the sources we opened do not cover cord gauge for these mowers.
  • Runtime and area per charge. The LiTHELi and EGO figures are manufacturer claims, and the LiTHELi listing conflicts with itself. Real runtime changes with grass, height and terrain.
  • Battery compatibility across brands. The LiTHELi listing describes its batteries as usable across its other products. This post does not verify that, and the EGO statement covers EGO batteries only.
  • Noise. None of the listings gives a decibel figure, so this post makes no noise comparison.
  • The LawnMaster corded or battery type, its bag, its warranty and its box contents, none of which the listing states.
  • Manual details. The manuals for these models are PDF files, and the sources we opened do not include them.

What the sources do not say

The sources we opened are three university pages, one EPA page and two EGO pages. The UC and Ohio State pages cover mower safety in general and do not name any mower in this list. The EPA page covers household disposal and handling of lithium-ion batteries, and it gives no charging or storage limits for these batteries. The EGO FAQ covers a different model, the LM2102SP. The UC cool-season page gives height ranges by grass species, not by mower model, so it cannot confirm the height settings of any mower here.

Buying checklist

  • Check the box contents first. The EGO LM2130SP is tool only, and the LiTHELi includes one battery.
  • Confirm the power source. The LawnMaster listing does not say whether it is corded or battery powered.
  • Match the deck width to the lawn and to your storage space. The six decks run from 12 inches to 21 inches.
  • Look up the cord length in the manual for each corded model. The listings do not state it.
  • Choose a cutting height with the one-third rule in mind, and check the height table for your grass type before you set the deck.
  • Read the pros and cons of electric mowers before you commit to one power source. See the pros and cons of electric mowers.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Buying the EGO LM2130SP without a battery and charger, because the listing and the EGO kit page both show them as not included.
  • Treating the LiTHELi height or battery figures as settled, because its listing disagrees with itself.
  • Mowing wet grass with an electric mower, which Ohio State Extension advises against.

FAQ

Which mowers in this comparison are corded?

The BLACK+DECKER BESTA512CM, DORTALA and CRAFTSMAN listings all name a corded electric mower. The LawnMaster listing says electric without stating corded or battery, so check its seller page or manual before you buy.

Does the EGO LM2130SP come with a battery?

No. The listing and the EGO kit page both show the battery and charger as not included. The kit model LM2135SP is sold with a 7.5 Ah battery and a rapid charger, so it is a different purchase.

What cord length do the corded mowers need?

The listings do not state cord length, and the sources we opened do not cover cord length or gauge for these mowers. Check the manual for each corded model before you choose an extension cord.

Can I use an electric mower on wet grass?

Ohio State Extension says not to use an electric mower on wet grass. Wait until the grass is dry before you mow.

Should I remove the battery before cleaning under the deck?

EGO’s FAQ for its 21-inch self-propelled model LM2102SP says to remove the safety key and the battery before cleaning the underside of the deck. That model differs from the LM2130SP, so check the LM2130SP manual for the same step.

How much grass should a mower remove at once?

UC’s cool-season guidance says to remove only one-third of the grass height at a time. Its height table is organized by grass species, so check the row for your grass before you set a mower.

Bottom line

Decide on power first. If a battery and charger are not in the box, add them to the purchase before you compare decks, because the EGO LM2130SP needs both before it can run.
