The best tile saw for most home jobs is a wet saw with a water feed and a table that matches the tile you cut. The ten listings we read for this post include 7-inch and 4-3/8-inch wet saws, a 4-inch Ryobi, and one cordless 5-inch masonry saw. Each listing states different figures for cut depth, tile support and power, so the right pick depends on your tile size and on whether you have an outlet or a battery.

Quick answer

  • Tile up to 12 x 12 inches: the SKIL 3540-02 listing says its top supports tiles up to 12 x 12-inch, and it has a blade cooling water reservoir.
  • Tile up to 18 x 18 inches: the SKIL 3550-02 listing says its sliding side extension supports tiles up to 18 x 18-inch. No other listing in this set states a tile support that large.
  • Deepest stated 90-degree cut: the FLEX CS 40 listing gives a maximum cut thickness of 41 mm, about 1.61 inches.
  • Cordless: the Makita XCC01Z is the only cordless listing we read. Its title says Tool Only, so the battery and charger are extra.

The tile saws we read

The table uses only the figures each listing states. A cell that reads not stated means the listing is silent on that point.

Listing Power Stated size, support or cut figure Water feed stated Included, as stated
SKIL 3540-02, 7-inch wet tile saw Corded electric Top supports tiles up to 12 x 12-inch; cross cut 7.75-inch Blade cooling water reservoir not stated

Ryobi TC401, 4-inch tile saw Corded electric, 120 volts not stated not stated not stated
Makita XCC01Z, 5-inch cordless masonry saw 18V LXT battery platform Up to 1-9/16 in at 90 degrees; 8,800 RPM Integrated water delivery system Tool only; battery and charger not included

Converting the stated depths to inches

Five listings state a 90-degree cut figure. We convert each with one formula, inches = millimeters divided by 25.4, and rounded to two decimals. The 45-degree figures are left out because the angles do not match.

Listing Stated figure at 90 degrees Calculation Result
FLEX CS 40 41 mm maximum cut thickness 41 / 25.4 1.61 in
Hoteche 4-3/8-inch (tool only) up to 34 mm deep 34 / 25.4 1.34 in
Hoteche 7-inch (5A) 33 mm 33 / 25.4 1.30 in
VEVOR 7-inch 30 mm 30 / 25.4 1.18 in
Makita XCC01Z (tool only) up to 1-9/16 in 1.5625 x 25.4 39.7 mm

The gap between the FLEX and VEVOR figures is 11 mm, about 0.43 inch. It matters only for material thicker than 30 mm. The other four listings state no 90-degree depth, so they are not in the calculation.

The tile saws, one by one

Each section gives the listing’s own description, its stated specs, when the saw fits, when to skip it, and the limit the listing leaves open.

SKIL 3540-02 7-inch wet tile saw

The listing describes a corded 7-inch wet tile saw with a stainless steel top and an adjustable rip fence with a miter gauge. It says the water reservoir keeps the blade cool while minimizing dust and debris.

  • Tile support: up to 12 x 12-inch (the listing says)
  • Cross cut 7.75-inch; diagonal cut 7.25-inch (the listing says)
  • Bevel: 0 to 45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if your tile is 12 x 12 inches or smaller. Skip it if you cut larger tile, because 12 x 12 is the stated support. The limit: the listing gives cut capacities but no 90-degree depth.

PORTER-CABLE PCE980 7-inch tile saw

The listing describes a corded wet saw with a 7-inch cutting capacity, an on-board cutting guide and a stainless steel fixed deck. It adds a roll cage for carrying, a splash guard, a drain plug and an onboard miter square.

  • Cutting capacity: 7-inch (title)
  • Speed: 2850 rpm (the listing says)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if you want a cart with a roll cage and a drain plug for cleanup. Skip it if you need a stated tile size or depth, since the listing gives neither. The limit: the fit for large tile cannot be checked from the listing.

SKIL 3550-02 7-inch wet tile saw with HydroLock

The listing describes a corded 7-inch wet saw whose HydroLock system keeps water near the blade. Its sliding side extension supports tiles up to 18 x 18-inch, and its aluminum table top is described as rust-resistant.

  • Tile support with the extension: up to 18 x 18-inch (the listing says)
  • Bevel: 0, 22.5 and 45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if your tile is larger than 12 x 12 inches. Skip it if you need a 90-degree depth figure, which the listing does not give. The limit: the bevel is stated as three set angles, not as a range.

VEVOR 7-inch wet tile saw, 65Mn blade

The listing describes a corded 7-inch wet saw with a 65Mn steel blade and a 3600 RPM motor. It names ceramic tile, floor tile and marble among the materials it cuts, and says the water reservoir is detachable.

  • Maximum depth: 1.2 in (30 mm) at 90 degrees; 0.8 in (20 mm) at 45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Angle: 0 to 45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Included: 1 x Wet Tile Saw (the listing says)

Pick it if you cut tile up to about 30 mm thick. Skip it if you need more depth at 90 degrees, since the Hoteche 7-inch and FLEX listings state more. The limit: the page also offers a 10-inch size, which we did not read.

DEWALT DWC860W 4-3/8-inch wet and masonry saw

The listing describes a corded wet saw with a 4-3/8-inch diamond blade and a 10.8 amp (1,300 watts) motor. It says the saw cuts granite, porcelain, concrete and other stone materials, bevels to 45 degrees, and weighs 6.6 lbs.

  • Motor: 10.8 amp (1,300 watts) (the listing says)
  • No-load speed: 13,000 rpm maximum (the listing says)
  • Surface recommendation: ceramic (overview)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if you want a light corded saw for ceramic or stone pieces. Skip it if you need a clean depth figure, because the depth line in the listing has typographical errors and this post does not use it. The limit: no table size or tile support is stated.

Hoteche 7-inch wet tile cutter, 5A motor

The listing describes a corded tile cutter with a 5A motor on 110 to 120 volts. It gives a 2950 rpm no-load speed, a table tilt from 0 to 45 degrees, and a table that adjusts from 330 x 360 mm to 395 x 385 mm.

  • Depth: 33 mm at 90 degrees; 21 mm at 45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Blade: 7-inch, 7/8-inch by 2.2 mm (the listing says)
  • Product voltage: 120 (the listing says)

Pick it if you want more 90-degree depth than the VEVOR listing and an adjustable table. Skip it if you need a tile size, which the listing does not state. The limit: the title names a water reservoir, but the bullets do not give its size.

FLEX CS 40 wet tile saw

The listing describes a corded wet saw with a 12,000 rpm no-load speed and a 5-inch by 7/8-inch blade with a 20 mm adapter ring. It gives a tilt range of 0 to 45 degrees and a maximum cut thickness of 41 mm at 90 degrees.

  • No-load speed: 12,000 rpm (the listing says)
  • Maximum cut thickness at 90 degrees: 41 mm; minimum: 26 mm (the listing says)
  • Surface recommendation: stone (overview)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if stone is your main material and you need the thickest stated 90-degree cut here. Skip it if you cut tile, because the surface recommendation is stone. The limit: the listing gives a 26 mm minimum but does not explain what it means for thinner pieces.

Hoteche 4-3/8-inch masonry and tile saw, 1300W

The listing is for a tool only package. It describes a 1300W copper motor, a 12,500 RPM no-load speed and a 4-3/8-inch blade that the listing says is not included. The water cooling parts are a nozzle, hose and valve.

  • Cut depth: up to 34 mm (the listing says)
  • Bevel: 0-45 degrees (the listing says)
  • Blade: not included (the listing says)

Pick it if you cut thick stone or tile and already have a blade. Skip it if you expect a blade in the box. The limit: the kit bullet says the package “comes with everything needed”, which conflicts with the blade statement in the same listing.

Ryobi TC401 4-inch tile saw

The listing is a corded tile saw sold in non-retail, bulk packaging. It states a 4-inch blade in its title, a tile surface recommendation, high speed steel blade material and a product voltage of 120. The copy we read had no bullet list or product description.

  • Blade: 4 in (title)
  • Product voltage: 120 (the listing says)
  • Included: not stated

Pick it if you need a small corded 4-inch saw and 120-volt power suits your outlet. Skip it if you need a depth figure or a water feed, because the listing states neither. The limit: this is the least-described listing in the set.

Makita XCC01Z 5-inch cordless wet and dry masonry saw

The listing is a cordless 18V LXT saw with a brushless motor that delivers 8,800 RPM. It says the depth of cut reaches up to 1-9/16 inch at 90 degrees, bevel cuts go up to 45 degrees, and an integrated water delivery system feeds water with a flow adjustment. Its surface recommendation is concrete, masonry and tile.

  • Power: battery powered, 18V LXT (overview and title)
  • Depth of cut at 90 degrees: up to 1-9/16 in, about 39.7 mm (the listing says)
  • Included: tool only; battery and charger not included (title)

Pick it if you want a cordless saw for tile or masonry and already own a compatible 18V LXT battery and charger. Skip it if you have no battery, because the listing is tool only. The limit: the listing says its water system is built for OSHA Table 1 compliance in masonry cutting. That is the listing’s claim, and this post makes no compliance claim of its own. How we chose

We searched Amazon for best tile saw on 2026-10-22 and opened ten listings. We kept saws whose title or surface recommendation names tile, ceramic or masonry cutting. We left out diamond blades, hole saw kits, oscillating blades, handheld mini circular saws, concrete cut-off saws, a jackhammer and a miter saw, because they are different products. The search also showed wet saws that we did not read, so this post does not cover them.

The order of the product sections follows the order in which we read the listings. It is not a ranking, and we did not score the saws.

What we could not verify

The listings do not say how any of these saws cuts a specific tile, how long a diamond blade lasts, or how much water each saw needs. We read the 7-inch option of the VEVOR listing and not its 10-inch option. For the Makita, the listing names the battery platform and says tool only, but it does not list compatible batteries or chargers.

What the sources do not say

  • The sources we opened do not cover blade life, water flow rates, or how a saw handles large-format tile.
  • The Ryobi TC401 listing states its voltage, tile surface and blade material only, so its package contents and any water feed are unknown.
  • The DEWALT depth line has a typographical error, so this post gives no depth figure for that saw.
  • The Makita listing names OSHA Table 1 compliance. This post repeats that only as the listing’s claim.

Buying checklist

  1. Write down the largest tile you cut, then find the listing’s stated tile support or table size.
  2. Convert the stated millimeter depth to inches and compare it with the thickness of your material.
  3. Check whether the blade is included. The Hoteche 4-3/8-inch listing says it is not.
  4. Check the power source. The Makita is battery powered and tool only; the other nine listings are corded electric. If you need a longer cord, see our extension cord guide for electric lawn mowers.
  5. Check the water feed. Some listings state a reservoir, a water line or a delivery system, and the FLEX and Ryobi listings state nothing about water.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Buying a 7-inch saw for 18 x 18-inch tile. Only the SKIL 3550-02 listing states that support.
  • Comparing 45-degree figures. The VEVOR listing gives 20 mm at 45 degrees and 30 mm at 90 degrees, and only the 90-degree figure goes in the calculation.
  • Assuming the Makita includes a battery. Its title says Tool Only.
  • Using the DEWALT depth line, which contains a typographical error.

FAQ

Is a wet tile saw better than a dry masonry saw for tile?

The listings do not compare the two side by side. Most are wet saws with a reservoir or water line. The Hoteche 4-3/8-inch listing says it works in wet or dry cutting modes, so check each listing’s water feed before you decide.

What tile size fits a 7-inch wet tile saw?

The SKIL 3540-02 states support for tiles up to 12 x 12-inch. The VEVOR, PCE980 and Hoteche 7-inch listings give depth, table size or capacity, not a tile size. For tile larger than 12 x 12 inches, only the SKIL 3550-02 listing states support, up to 18 x 18-inch.

Can these saws cut stone?

Some listings say so. The DEWALT listing says its motor cuts granite, porcelain and other stone, and the FLEX CS 40 gives stone as its surface recommendation. Compare each listing’s stated thickness with your stone before you buy.

Does the Makita XCC01Z include a battery and charger?

No. The title says Tool Only, and the listing does not include a battery or charger. The listing names an 18V LXT platform, so you need a compatible battery and charger to run it.

Is the Ryobi TC401 a complete saw?

The listing does not say what is in the box. It states a 120-volt product voltage, a tile surface recommendation and a high speed steel blade material. Read the package contents before you buy.

Do I need to buy a blade separately?

For the Hoteche 4-3/8-inch listing, the spec bullet says the blade is not included, while its kit bullet says the package comes with everything needed. Ask the seller before you order. For the other listings, the included parts are not stated, except the VEVOR listing, which says 1 x Wet Tile Saw.

Bottom line

Match the saw to the largest tile you cut. If the tile is larger than 12 x 12 inches, choose only a listing that states a larger tile support, which in this set means the SKIL 3550-02 at 18 x 18 inches.
